Calligraphya started in 2014 and was produced for a monthly publication XII Magazine between 2014-15. It consists of portraits of artists with their handwritten texts – some of the texts are extracted from the artist’s notes and some were written spontaneously while shooting the portraits and were asked to write something in a context of the future of written communication as opposed to today’s widespread electronic note-taking. It is also a portrait of the city, a slice of Tbilisi – highlighting the people who shape contemporary art & culture in Georgia.
